This ultimate cross-country journey is the most complete and immersive way to experience Ghana. From coastal castles and rainforest canopies to northern savannahs, wildlife parks, ancient cultures, and pristine beaches, this tour takes you deep into the heart of the country.
You will explore vibrant cities, traditional villages, national parks, waterfalls, monkey sanctuaries, slave castles, lake communities, and some of West Africa’s most important cultural and historical sites. This is a once-in-a-lifetime journey across Ghana — south to north, coast to savannah.
Day 1 – Akwaaba! Welcome to Accra, Ghana
Your professional guide will meet you at Kotoka International Airport and transfer you to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy a short orientation to prepare you for the adventure ahead. Relax and recover from your flight.

Day 2 – Accra City Tour
Today you explore Ghana’s vibrant capital city. You will visit:
Independence Square
Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park
W.E.B. Du Bois Center for Pan-African Culture
Arts & Crafts Market for souvenirs
Accra blends modern life with deep history and culture. After a full day of sightseeing, return to your hotel to rest.

Day 3 – Volta River Boat Cruise & Drive to Wli (Sundays Only)
This morning you drive to Akosombo to see Lake Volta, the largest man-made lake in the world. You will enjoy a relaxing boat cruise aboard the Dodi Princess, with music, dancing, and lunch on board.
After the cruise, continue to the Volta Region and drive to Wli in preparation for the next day’s hike.
Overnight: Wli Area
Day 4 – Wli Waterfalls, Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary, Mountain Village
Early morning hike to Wli Waterfalls, the tallest waterfall in West Africa. Descend the forest trail and enjoy time at the falls, including a refreshing swim.
After breakfast, visit Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary, where monkeys are protected and considered sacred by the local community.

Kpando pottery village
Amedzofe, the highest village in Ghana
Short hike up Gemi Mountain to enjoy sunset views

Day 5 – Tamale City Tour
Today you drive north to Tamale, the fastest-growing city in northern Ghana. You will visit:
Tamale Central Market
Central Mosque
Leather factory
Shea butter processing center
Local arts market
This is a full cultural immersion into northern Ghana.

Day 6 – Mole National Park (Safari & Larabanga Mosque)
Drive to Mole National Park, stopping at Larabanga Mosque, the oldest mosque in Ghana (built in 1421).
Upon arrival at Mole:
Afternoon jeep safari
Sunset viewing from the famous Mole viewpoint
Overnight: Mole National Park
Day 7 – Mole National Park (Walking Safari)
Early morning guided walking safari. You may see:
Elephants
Buffaloes
Antelopes
Baboons
Many bird species
After returning, relax at the pool and enjoy the incredible savannah views.

Day 8 – Mognori Eco-Village Experience
Visit Mognori Eco-Village for:
Guided village walk
Shea butter demonstration
Visit to traditional medicine man
Cultural performances with drumming and dancing
Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation, then enjoy an evening/night safari in the park to spot nocturnal animals.
Overnight: Mole National Park
Day 9 – Paga Crocodile Pond & Sirigu Pottery Village
Drive north toward Paga, stopping briefly to see the Zaaya Mud House in Wulugu.
At Paga:
Visit the sacred crocodile pond where crocodiles are believed to host ancestral spirits
Continue to Sirigu, famous for its arts and crafts. Visit the Sirigu Women’s Organization for Pottery and Arts (SWOPA) and learn about their traditional painting and pottery techniques.
Overnight: Upper East Region
Day 10 – Hippo Sanctuary, Lobi Villages, Drive to Kumasi
Visit the Wechiau Hippo Sanctuary. Optional canoe safari to get close to the hippos.
Then walk to the Lobi homesteads, known for their unique architecture and traditions. Learn about their culture and history.
Afterward, begin the long but scenic drive south to Kumasi.

Day 11 – Kumasi City Tour & Manhyia Palace
Explore the Ashanti capital:

Manhyia Palace Museum (Ashanti King’s Palace)

Day 12 – Cape Coast Castle & Elmina Castle
Drive to the Central Region. Today you confront the powerful history of the Transatlantic Slave Trade:

Elmina Castle (the oldest European structure in sub-Saharan Africa)
Deep, emotional, and educational day.

Day 13 – Kakum National Park (Canopy Walkway)
Visit Kakum National Park:
Walk the famous rainforest canopy walkway
Guided forest walk learning about medicinal plants and wildlife
After the tour, continue westward toward the Western Region.

Day 14 – Nzulezo Stilt Village & Busua Beach
Travel to Nzulezo, the famous village built entirely on stilts over water. Canoe ride to the village and guided visit.
Continue to Busua Beach for relaxation by the Atlantic Ocean.

A full day to relax, swim, enjoy the beach, or explore the surroundings at your own pace.

Day 16 – Fishing Community Visit & Leisure
Another relaxing day. In the evening, visit a nearby fishing village to watch fishermen cast their nets and learn about local coastal life.
